Cicero’s annual summer festival starts its final month with National Night Out, superheroes and more. Since the start of June, families have dropped into Cicero Community Park, Municipal Courtyard and schools throughout town to enjoy the wide range of activities planned by the Department of Parks and Recreation and Cicero Town President Larry Dominick.
“These are the programs that help the town out the most,” Dominick said. “Kids are having fun, staying out of trouble, and families are having a wonderful time together in a safe and inexpensive way.”
National Night Out, the annual event promoting cooperation between police and the community, kicks of the month with rides, activities and live music at the Community Center on August 1. That will be followed by a visit from superheroes and princesses and a chance for everyone to dress as their favorite characters, Back to School week and a chance to receive a variety of necessary school supplies for the new year, a celebration of magical science, and the End of Summer celebration are all in store. All events start at 5:30pm.
