Valentine’s Day may have been coming up, but the Cicero Police Deparment was thinking about Christmas on February 11 when ExxonMobil’s Cicero Lube Oil Blending Plant donated $1,000 for the department’s annual Shop With a Cop event.

Morton East High School Senior Earns Full Ride to Ivy League University

Cornell University, a private land-grant university in Ithaca, New York, will soon count Morton East senior Oscar Barraza as one of its own after the the Posse Foundation granted the high schooler a full, four-year scholarship to attend the Ivy League institution.

Cicero Comprehensive Plan Community Meeting Scheduled for March 11

The next meeting regarding Cicero's Comprehensive Plan is scheduled for 5pm on March 11 at the Cicero Community Center. Last October, we heard from you regarding your thoughts about Cicero's new Comprehensive Plan schedule. This plan, known as the Town of Cicero Comprehensive Plan, is a study currently underway with the assistance of The Lakota Group to create a type of blueprint to help make decisions on the best way to improve the Town over the next decade.

CYC Dance Creates Special Time for Cicero Dads and Daughters

When Cicero Town President Larry Dominick launched the annual Father-Daughter Dance in 2008, he had a goal of instilling the important roles of father in a child’s life. Now, in its eighth year, this American tradition has become a staple of Cicero’s Valentine’s Day celebrations, with dads and their girls filling the Cicero Community Center for the February 13 event.

Lithuanian Independence, American Presidency Commemorated at Cicero Community Center

Continuing the long-standing tradition of honoring the wide range of cultures in Cicero’s community, Town President Larry Dominick and the Department of Special Events commemorated Lithuanian Independence and the American Presidency during a joint ceremony at the Cicero Community Center on February 13.
