In July, the Cicero Town Board and Military Families of Cicero United welcomed home two of Cicero’s local military heroes, recently returning from deployment abroad.

“Our local military heroes are heroes in the truest sense of the word,” said Cicero Town President Larry Dominick.  “They put themselves on the line so that those of us at home can continue to enjoy the freedoms that come with being an America.  And, they are deserving of our utmost respect and admiration.”

Cpl. Roger A. Espinosa just recently returned from deployment in Afghanistan after enlisting in the Marine Corps in August of 2010.  Sgt. Richard A. DeLeon has served two tours in Iraq following enlisting in the United States Army in February of 2009, and recently reenlisting in the Army National Guard where he is currently serving as part of the 3626 Maintenance Company.

“It’s only fitting that we formally welcome them home to the New Cicero,” added Dominick.

Military Families of Cicero United was organized by Cicero Town President Larry Dominick to provide support for Cicero’s local military men and women and their families.  President Dominick thanked MFCU Director Maureen Carroll for her hard work and help in organizing the welcome home celebrations for Cpl. Espinosa and Sgt. DeLeon.
