Cicero First Deputy Police Chief named head of West Suburban Chiefs of Police (WSCOP)
Town President Larry Dominick and the Town of Cicero Board of Trustees congratulated 1st Deputy Police Supt. Luis Gutierrez who was honored on September 6, 2023, and sworn in as the new incoming President of the West Suburban Chiefs of Police Association (WSCOP).
Gutierrez is the first Command Officer from the Cicero Police Department to be sworn in as President of the WSCOP since its inception in 1960.
“We are very proud of Deputy Gutierrez for all that he does and for this great honor to head the West Suburban Chiefs of Police association,” said President Larry Dominick.
“The Town of Cicero has many great professional police officers like Deputy Gutierrez and I am proud of all of them. It’s great to see other outside agencies recognize the talent that we have.”

Judge Jesse Reyes swore in the WSCPA Officers including Gutierrez.
“This is a great opportunity and we will work together to continue to move this organization forward,” Gutierrez said after acknowledging attendees and former officers.
In addition to being the first president from the Town of Cicero, Gutierrez is also the WSCPA’s first Latino President.

The installation was held on Wednesday Sept. 6, 2023 at Paisans Restaurant, 6226 Ogden Avenue. Also installed as WSCPA officers Vice President Michael Kuruvilla, Secretary Treasurer Matthew Buckley, and Sgt at Arms Andrew Hock.
Also attending was Clerk of the Circuit Court Iris Martinez, Cicero Police Chief Tom Boyle, Cicero Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias, Cicero Assessor Emo Cundari, Cicero Collector Fran Reitz, and Cicero Chaplain Ismael Vargas.
El Jefe Adjunto de la Policía de Cicero, Luis Gutiérrez, nombrado presidente de la Asociación de Jefes de Policía de los Suburbios del Oeste (WSCOP)
El Presidente Municipal Larry Dominick y la Junta de Síndicos de la Ciudad de Cicero felicitaron al 1er Subdirector de Policía, Luis Gutiérrez, quien fue honrado el 6 de septiembre de 2023 y juramentado como el nuevo Presidente entrante de la Asociación de Jefes de Policía de los Suburbios del Oeste (WSCOP).
Gutiérrez es el primer Oficial de Mando del Departamento de Policía de Cicero en ser juramentado como Presidente de la WSCOP desde su inicio en 1960.
“Estamos muy orgullosos del Subdirector Gutiérrez por todo lo que hace y por este gran honor de liderar la asociación de Jefes de Policía de los Suburbios del Oeste”, dijo el Presidente Larry Dominick.
“La Ciudad de Cicero cuenta con muchos excelentes oficiales de policía profesionales como el Subdirector Gutiérrez, y estoy orgulloso de todos ellos. Es genial ver que otras agencias externas reconozcan el talento que tenemos”.
El Juez Jesse Reyes juramentó a los Oficiales de la WSCPA, incluyendo a Gutiérrez.
“Esta es una gran oportunidad y trabajaremos juntos para seguir avanzando en esta organización”, dijo Gutiérrez después de reconocer a los asistentes y a los ex oficiales.
Además de ser el primer presidente de la Ciudad de Cicero, Gutiérrez es también el primer Presidente latino de la WSCPA.
La ceremonia de instalación tuvo lugar el miércoles 6 de septiembre de 2023 en el Restaurante Paisans, ubicado en la Avenida Ogden 6226. También fueron instalados como oficiales de la WSCPA el Vicepresidente Michael Kuruvilla, el Secretario Tesorero Matthew Buckley y el Sargento de Armas Andrew Hock.
También estuvieron presentes la Secretaria del Tribunal de Circuito, Iris Martinez, el Jefe de Policía de Cicero, Tom Boyle, la Secretaria de Cicero, Maria Punzo-Arias, el Asesor de Cicero, Emo Cundari, el Recolector de Cicero, Fran Reitz, y el Capellán de Cicero, Ismael Vargas.
