The Seniors of Cicero celebrated a late Valentine’s Day and an early St. Patrick’s Day at the annual Hearts and Shamrocks event on March 13, 2024 at the Cicero Community Center.

Seniors were able to enjoy breakfast while listening to live music by Rosie and the Rivets.

First Lady Diana Dominick who is also the Cicero Senior Center Director thanked her entire staff and all the volunteers for making the event a total success.

“A special token of appreciation to our Town President Larry Dominick and the board of trustees for always supporting the senior events,” said Cicero Senior Center Director Diana Dominick.

It wasn’t long until the dance floor was full of seniors showing off their best dance moves.

 

“It shows you that age isn’t anything,” said Cicero Town President Larry Dominick.

“I’m really proud it’s good to give the seniors a lot events. Show them we appreciate them and thankfully my wife’s doing a great job there”.

President Dominick always supports a variety of senior activities and programs.

Other Town officials were also present during the celebration including Town Clerk Maria Punzo-Arias and Town Trustee Victor Garcia.

“We’re glad we’re able to help and make a positive change in people’s lives,” said Clerk Punzo-Arias

“We are very happy to provide and give them what they deserve,” said Trustee Garcia.

To conclude the lively event, the Cicero Senior Center staff did a raffle where many seniors received zoo tickets and a gift card.

“It’s amazing what they provide for us seniors,” said Frank Kraut commissioner for the senior center.

“I don’t think there is any other township that does what the Town of Cicero does for us seniors”.

Las personas mayores de Cicero celebraron el Día de San Valentín tarde y un Día de San Patricio temprano en el evento anual Corazones y tréboles el 13 de marzo de 2024 en el Centro Comunitario de Cicero.

Las personas mayores pudieron disfrutar de un desayuno mientras escuchaban música en vivo de “Rosie and the Rivets”.

La Primera Dama Diana Dominick, quien también es la directora del Centro para personas mayores de Cicero, agradeció a todo su personal y a todos los voluntarios por hacer que el evento fuera un éxito total.

“Una muestra especial de agradecimiento a nuestro presidente municipal, Larry Dominick, y a la junta directiva por siempre apoyar los eventos para personas mayores”, dijo la directora del Centro para personas mayores, Diana Dominick.

No pasó mucho tiempo para que la pista de baile se llenara de personas mayores mostrando sus mejores movimientos de baile.

“Esto demuestra que la edad no importa”, dijo el presidente municipal de Cicero, Larry Dominick.

“Estoy muy orgulloso es bueno ofrecerles muchos eventos a las personas mayores. Demuéstrales que los apreciamos y afortunadamente mi esposa está haciendo un gran trabajo allí”.

El presidente Dominick siempre apoya una variedad de actividades y programas para personas mayores.

Otros funcionarios municipales también estuvieron presentes durante la celebración, incluida la secretaria municipal María Punzo-Arias y el síndico municipal Víctor García.

“Estamos contentos de poder ayudar y lograr un cambio positivo en la vida de las personas”, dijo la secretaria Punzo-Arias.

“Estamos muy contentos de brindarles lo que se merecen”, dijo el síndico García.

Para concluir el animado evento, el personal del Centro para personas mayores realizó una rifa en la que muchas personas mayores recibieron entradas para el zoológico y una tarjeta de regalo.

“Es sorprendente lo que nos ofrecen a las personas mayores”, dijo Frank Kraut, comisionado del centro para personas mayores.

“No creo que haya ningún otro municipio que haga lo que el municipio de Cicero hace por nosotros, los mayores”.
